What age group is this cruise for?
This is a unique Indian cruise for everyone in the family. About 1/3 will be young adults between 16 and 30 (singles activities, club parties w/Indian DJs). About 1/3 will be mature adults between 31 and 55 (Bollywood Live Band, Geet Ghazal). There are Camp Carnival activities for kids 2-16, as well as some Masala Cultural activities. Certain events, like the Games, Talent Show, & Dandia on the Deck, will be family events for all ages.

I have never been on a cruise…how does it work?
A cruise, particularly this Carnival Cruise, is the best way to have a relaxing vacation. Once you step aboard, your room and meals are completely taken care of. 24 Hours a day, you can eat delicious food, and your cabin is cleaned every time you step out! In addition, you have plenty of activities to choose from, from reading, surfing the net, volleyball, table games, bingo, art/food demonstrations, crazy contests, and more. In the evening, you have your choice of entertainment, whether it's the Casino, Las-Vegas Style Show, Comedy, or the Indian Entertainment for the Evening. You can have rooms close to your family or friends, and dine with them as well. Every lunch and dinner you are served a five-course meal, with plenty of choices for appetizers, salads, main courses, and deserts! Plus, on this cruise only, you can have your choice of a complete Indian Vegetarian or Non-Vegetarian meal!

Is the Indian food and Indian activities open to everyone?
No - only those who have booked through Music Masala. You will wear special plastic wristbands to access our activities and our dining room. You must keep your wristband on for 7 days.

Is there a child/student/senior discount?
Unfortunately, Carnival (and most cruise lines) treat every individual as a full fare ticket, from newborn to senior citizen. The savings come in if you have 3 or 4 people in a cabin, The rate goes down sometimes $40 a person.

How do I book? When do I get my tickets?
Since this is a special sailing, with the added Indian amenities, you must book with Music Masala directly either online, or by the phone at 281-277-6874. Upon full payment, you will be assigned a category and a rate, and receive Music Masala confirmation. You will receive in the mail your final tickets and cabin number from Carnival Cruise lines, along with maps, schedules, luggage tags,etc. Please label your luggage prior to boarding with the Carnival luggage tags. When you board, your luggage is taken first, checked for security, and taken straight to your room. Keep your immediate personal items with you while boarding.

Will I get seasick?
If you do not regularly get motion sick from car or plane rides, you will be fine on board. This is a large ship with stabilizers to minimize the motion. Seasickness medicine and shots will be available 24-hours on the ship as well.

I am vegetarian…what are my food options?
You are in for a treat, because you have plenty of vegetarian options on this sailing. Every menu, whether breakfast/lunch or dinner, appetizer, salad or main course has an American vegetarian selection. In addition, at lunch and dinner, we have a complete Indian vegetarian meal available. 24 hours, you can choose veggie burgers, and at the pizzeria, you have a choice of Margherita (tomato, basil & cheese) or Neoplitan (vegetables), etc.

How many people are on board? How many of that are Indian?
The ship capacity is roughly 2500 people. We will have half the ship, and one whole dining room for our group. Our Indian events will be in separate areas, accessible to our group only (identified by wrist bands).

What if I have an emergency and can't go?
There are no refunds once you have paid. You can sell your cabin to
someone else and pay a $50 name change fee per person. Or you can buy travel insurance from Carnival
Cruise Lines, which will refund your cruise if you have an emergency.

How do I pay for things on board?
When you are boarding, they will ask you for your credit card, and give a"on-board sail & sign card." When you buy things on board, your charges accumulate on the card, and then at the end of the cruise they are charged to your credit card. You can get cash for the casino, drinks, gift shop items, or services from your "sign & sail card."
